Levelling a floor with hardboard

Hi. I want to make all floors the same level in my house in preparation for laminate flooring. Could I place hardboard or other wood sheets on a tiled floor to make it level with an adjoining concrete floor?

I'd maybe go with OSB. 9mm or 11mm presumably. It should work.
