Which is the best and quickest way to remove any user data on it -

    reset it to factory default?

remove the hard drive and then sell it on?

factory default will delete but not overwrite files by default

    Secure erase - https://dban.org/

some business laptops have a BIOS option to wipe drive

if you remove the drive make sure you hand over all the adaptors or brackets as some are model specific
