Power shower removal

Good evening,

We had an electrician out to remove a power shower last weekend when we were doing a bathroom refurb.

I didnt look at fuse board until now and Im surprised at how he left it.

No Cert required for disconnecting

should provide a Cert if there was any electrical installation work done (fan,mirror light,heater,Devi mat,recess lights,pump etc)

though I don’t see any rcbo’s on the distribution board so unlikely he did anything.

I’m sure he would have safely terminated it at the shower end.

it would have been best practice to disconnect it at the tripswitch also

he should also have pointed out that your main switch fuse is broken and needs to be replaced.

Hi Meercat, Thanks for the heads up.

Should he have left a cert for doing this disconnection of the shower?

we havent paid him yet so havent seen invoice or paperwork yet?

I would wonder why he put insulation tape over the RCBO. Assuming that he disconnected the cable from the isolation switch to the shower then it would make no difference if the RCBO is up or down.

He's more than likely just terminated the shower cable in connectors+tape or a box

And taped over the RCBO. Doubt he's done any more disconnecting
