Quincentennial Bridge

I was driving past the bridge heading towards the Tesco Dunnes direction and was wondering why everyone was driving so slow but like an eejit I decided to take off and then up the road a bit I looked up at cameras. Are they speed cameras they looked like it to me but it was too late. Now I wasn't speeding excessively I just looked up the speed limit and it is 50 and I was above that. I haven't been there in years so never knew about the cameras. So anyone in the know are they speed cameras?

Most likely you noticed the 3 fancy light units installed to light up the old castle that has been recently renovated, council must be awash with money.

50kph limit on the bridge is sometimes enforced at either end, i believe that the limit is on the list of limit reviews which would include bothar na treabh dual carriage way

That's probably what I saw. I didn't get a good look at them, just for a spilt second as I was then past them as I wasn't looking up there when I was driving I looked up from some reason at the last second. I seen some sort of what I thought were sensors so they can keep watch even in the dark.

There's no static cameras there, haven't seen speed vans on the bridge either. There is an unmarked Garda car every so often that'll go up and down for a while pulling people over.

Quincentennial bridge is the new bridge, the pedestrian bridge might be called after Nora Barnacle who lived in nearby Bowling Green ...

I rememeber a new age traveller park up at a location that I think is now the Headford rd Dunnes back in 1993. JUst going from memory.

Was Quinnsworth at its location for decades? THink i was in there a few times before it changed.

Dunnes Terryland was there by that time so it wasn't there anyway.

There were travellers with caravans up on the old Sandy Rd, around the old bridge, from the late 80s into early 90s.

Thinking of the road that becomes the Quincentenary bridge, Does anybody know what the bus stop on tthe Sean Mulvoy rd serves in terms of a route.

I noticed it was being upkept still recently. I thought it served an alternative route for the 5 back pre Galway buses getting the 40 prefix. Have just been wondering since I pass it going to the Simon shop which is almost parallel with it. Just semi surprised it's still there and it seems to still get posters put on it like current bus stops do.
