    Hi,

My husband, twins aged 10 and I have rented a mobile home in a campsite near Jean de Montes in the Vendee region for the last few years. We would like to venture down towatds La Rochelle / ile de Re this Summer for 2 weeks mid July. We would appreciate any recommendations for a campsite with good facilities, slides to entertain 2 10 year olds and near a beach preferably. We will be travelling by car from Cork to Roskoff and driving down through France. Thanks in advance.

We stayed in a campsite near La Palmyre, a bit south of La Rochelle. Lots of stuff to see & do and miles & miles of beaches.

It was quite a while ago but it was a lovely spot.

There’s a Pierre en Vacances in Saint Martin. Haven’t stayed in it, but loved Ike de Re.

We stayed in this campsite on Isle d'Oleron when our two were about 8 and 11 and they both loved it. Good slides, nice kids club etc and a small enough site that we were able to let them have that bit more freedom than you can give them on the larger sites. In terms of activities nearby, the island is set up for cyclists with loads of paths, there's some nice beaches and our youngest and Mrs Sleepy did some horse riding that my daughter still talks about.
