Do Prepay Power install their own meter and if I decide to move to another supplier at some stage, what happens their meter?

The ESB Networks owned meter which you currently have (whether in an outdoor box or inside the house) will stay as is and will not be removed.

Prepay power will install a new meter beside your fuseboard connected electrically downstream of your main fuse.

If you want to move to another supplier in the future they will leave that meter there and provide you with a deactivation code. (From previous experience that part of the process is an absolute nightmare.)

Thanks for your reply. I understood they removed the meter (in my case a smart meter) and installed their own. And if I moved supplier, the new supplier would install an add on at their meter.

No they definitely don't remove the existing meter. The existing meter is the property of ESB Networks regardless of supplier.

Prepay power install their own meter.

The meter they install is actually the same type of prepayment meter ESB Networks would install on behalf of another supplier if you had to enter into a payment plan.

I assume you are aware that Prepay power is the most expensive provider on the market.
