Attic insulation and raised floor

    Hi folks

I intend putting some Extra insulation in my attic at right angle to what's there at the moment. 200mm rolls should do the job.

I want to have some raised floor area for some light storage eg Christmas stuff suitcases etc etc. above the insulation Note this will not be for walking on.

Any ideas on a handy way to do this.

    Thanks for any help.

if you put down flooring in the attic, or anywhere for that matter, it has to be able to withstand being walked on. It makes no difference if you don't intend for it to be walked on - at some point in time, someone unaware of or having forgotten your intentions is going to set foot on it and if it can't bear their weight they risk a potentially very serious injury.

No flooring is safer than inadequate flooring.

Used Diall Attic stilts recently to do exactly the same job. They are both handy to fit and strong, but as Geraldine says use adequate flooring - I'd suggest no less than 18mm osb or thicker.

Some Attic Stilts on sale on Adverts at the moment.
