Installed the above in June 2021, it has a rotary programme selector switch plus 4 or 5 touch selections for Stop/Start, Temperature, Spin Speed, Delayed Start etc. I have to get a hair dryer and direct hot air onto the panel or a minute or less to get these to respond (every 3 months or so) apart from the Stop/Start which allways works consistently. The machine is in a unheated garage. Is this a common occurance?.

With the weather we get in wintertime in Irl you are lucky that it still works , there is always going to be a lot of moisture in the air which will get on to the pcb, motor etc when it is in an outside unheated garage. I have come across machines like this with moisture running off them, sometimes they are not worth trying to repair them unless the customer is prepared to move them inside because I can’t guarantee the job in this type environment.

There is a other 10 year old non soft key Zanussi + a 15 year old small freezer in there as well with no problems, the "garage" is actually only now a tiny room which was part of a adjoining utility room+garage converted 20 years ago to a large kitchen with this ntiny space off it which was originally part of the garage.

I remember years ago using the same method on a neighbours soft touch TV in his front room.

Found out that placing the palm of my hand across the keypad for 5 secs or so works as well, temp adjacent to the keypad is ~ 12.5C just now.

The stop/start is not part of the above so thats why i never had a problem with it even though its still a touch key.
