Hey folks. Going looking at a 2019 Peugeot 3008 in the the next few days . Just trying to gather opinions on the car . Possible things to be concerned about etc . I've heard they can be troublesome with electrics but don't know enough to form an opinion yet .

    She's a 1.2 petrol with 50 k on the clock .

    Thanks in advance

The 1.2 Puretech engine has been problematic in the past with pre-detonation and carbon buildup issues (its a direct injection engine). There can also be issues with disintegration of the timing belt with subsequent blockage of oil passages. That issue should have been addressed by a recall with a visual check of the belt but there's still a risk of issues with the belt if oil changes have not been done on time and with the correct specification oil. There was an update to the engine and software which should have reduced the chances other two issues but time will tell. The timing belt change interval has been reduced so it'll be a bill sooner then you might expect.

Paintwork on the pearlescent white can be a bit thin and the fake leather driver's side seat bolster on the Allure model can crack surprisingly easily. Owners seem to like them though. A reasonably decent drive and the EAT8 auto box is nice.
