    Hi all, looking for a bit of advice re a new to me car. Currently driving a mazda 6 saloon but find it too small with 2 kids and all the stuff needed to carry around for them. Currently do approximately 20000kms per year so looking at petrol. Skoda superb is currently the top pick for me size wise but is there anything else worth considering with a big boot. Not too keen on suv type vehicles, prefer a large saloon car. €20k max would be the budget. Also is there any value left in importing from the uk?

    Ford Mondeo,

    Opel Insignia

    Not much really

    I would say the Mondeo is your best bet.

    Good luck finding a petrol Mondeo

    Or a petrol superb either. I test drove a 1.5 manual, mother of jaysus I'd a pain in me arm changing gears, terrible gutless yoke, very quiet though. The dsg is a better match with that engine.

    Might be better off just buying a diesel. Theres not many large petrol saloons available

    Theres a few petrol Passats out there if the size is big enough for you

    Why would they buy a Passat when they could get a far nicer much better equipped Superb for less money?

    Skoda for the thinking person, VW for the sheep who just follow the herd. AUDI for those with more money than sense.

    Because the Passat sold 40% more new in petrol than the Superb did for the year their budget covers, so there might be more choice (pickings are extremely slim for either model)

    That is exactly why I suggested it ^

    Actually, I just checked. This is how many of each car there are available within or close to OP’s budget on Donedeal

    Petrol only:

    Passat = 50

    Superb = 1

    Mondeo = 1

    Insignia = 6

    Which model Mazda 6 do you have? I had the 2016 and found it very spacious (in a 3 series now and notice the difference). The rear space and boot are very generous for the class. The likes of the Mondeo and insignia won’t be any better if not worse. I picked it over rivals as was so nice to drive

    Bargain here.

    Main dealer, mileage right in the sweet spot, good spec, fair price for the whole package in my opinion.

    Get him on the phone Monday morning, if you can avoid a part exchange and pay cash, you'll get it for 19,750 and 6 months warranty.

    Spec is fairly poor. Looks like a Fabia inside

    Maybe you should consider Skoda Octavia if you want a petrol engine. I'm on my 3rd Octavia and it ticks all the boxes. When the kids were small and right up through their teens and college years etc. I fully recommend
