I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend a website or book that delves in depth into what to look out for when buying a house for the first time.
I have seen other resources but they are taken up largely with the mortgage side of things but I'm more looking out for the more practical side of things like heating, plumbing, electrics, structural issues, all the other things I'm unaware of and possibly some guidance on costs or what to ask about so I could figure out what should be done and how to get it costed.

You will need to employ someone who will accompany you when doing a viewing.
