Routes, trails, places to ride in Wexford

Not as far south as Bree, but you could also try Askamore/Sleive Bui. Then obviously Hush which is near Arklow and in Wicklow so not south Wexford 😀

Bree Hill would be about as far north as I could reasonably get, going to try it over the month. Going to go for Forth Mountain this weekend. Tempted to go along the old Waterford/Rosslare rail route as well.

I covered Rosslare strand to Bridgetown on my CX bike. It was doable but a MTB is more appropriate. I have a plan to go for it in the next month, possibly next Saturday. Its about 50km from one side to another, if you are really bored next Saturday, let me know.

Ah nice. Would definitely be up for that but unfortunately next weekend is out (going up to Dublin to pick up my first mountian bike in years!) - let me know if you end up doing it another day and I'll join.

Is the waterford/rosslare rail route doable on a bike? Have they removed the sleepers and turned it into a greenway?

Depends on the bike, I rode 1/3 of the way on a CX bike. Rideable but a slow boneshaker. A gravel bike would help but a MTB should be fine. Sleepers are there as they have to pretend they can reopen it if requested but that line is far from usable despite the requirements by the NTA to keep it in usable condition.

It is not a Greenway or even close to one.
