ESB Networks Data vs Solis Data

New to Solar and smart meters so bear with me if this has been answered already.

Long story short now on a smart meter tarriff with EI where have night/day rate and 2am to 4am cheaper rate which use for charging ev.

First thing on ESB networks it shows the car charging start at 01:30am and finishing at 03:30am vs on the car charger schedule and solis its showing as 02:00 to 04:00. Is this just a timing gig and will be 02:00 to 04:00 in reality?

Second thing and more worrying is the data. Data attached for 15th Dec.

Solis showing 14kWh imported, 1.85kWh exported and 16kWh self use/battery...with total 30.34 consumed.

ESB Networks My Energy Consumption summing the 48 data points (reading every 30mins) showing 32kW Active Import Interval (kW) and 3.3kW Active Export Interval.

Big difference (14kWh on Solis vs 32kW on ESB Networks)....what the heck am I missing e.g. is it an apples to apples comparison in the first place?

The HDF reports usage for the previous half hour

It also has an odd unit. You need to divide by 2 to get the kWh figure

Horrible file poorly documented. Still a massive step forward!

My HDF file seems to only contains export data for some reason, that or I'm not looking in the correct area

@Higs how do you find solar PV with the EI smart tarrif? I'm holding on to my trusty D\N tariff (night EV and house battery charging, deemed export) as I think the current gang of smart tariffs are vv expensive, so just wondering about your experience so far..

    Thanks Tony, that makes sense!

Have solar only a couple months so not best time of year and unfortunately I have the smart meter for quite a while but was on a 24hr tariff (ie not smart meter rates) since its install (gave up trying to get D/N meter). Contract was up Dec 5th and best option €'s wise was EI night super boost plan which gave me a couple hrs at night with a really good rate that I use for charging car. Now starting to use night rate for dishwasher/washing machine etc so early days. So in short D/N wasn't an option and smart rate was better deal vs 24hr rate with set up at home (ev's).

EDIT: Looking at EI plans...smart rates are better (but other providers may have better deals & once move to smart meter rates there is no going back I believe).

    Smart night boost

    D/N
