Advice on upgraded graphics card

hi

Built a gaming PC a few years back for eldest, included an RX 580 card at the time.

He’s fairly heavy gamer, ran a benchmark and looks like if upgrading, graphics card might show some boost if go higher.

looking for advice on what card would be worth upgrading to around budget of €300 - only if it would show improved performance and if possible to get this week. Not talking a 3070 obviously

Any suggestions ?

In general: UserBenchmark is not a trustworthy source, their "benchmarks" make no sense in real-world. Please uninstall & run a malware search.

As to upgrades:

As always - appreciate the advice.

I was looking at the RX 5700 XT in CeX - completely forgot about the trade in, cant trade his one in until after I get the replacement but you reminded me I have other bits to trade in to get the voucher prize. I think I'll be doing that. Other options also good but want something this week.

I didnt realise that about userbenchmark - just check a few reviews since your comment which opened my eyes.

Any alternatives that do decent scans of set up and performance etc that you're aware of ?

3DMark Time Spy is generally agreed upon as a good benchmark for gaming, and you can loop it for stability testing.

Unigine Superposition is good, too.

There's also an in-between.

The regular RX5700 is only 250 and that's still a major upgrade on an RX580.

Why can't you trade in his current card. He will only be stopped gaming two or three hours until you return with the new card?

CeX strike again - I paid for RX5700 MT - collected today and brought it home.

I swapped it in to check it - and low and behold they've given me a RX5700 - not the Rx5700 MT model 🤬

XT do you mean. You should have looked at the sticker some where on the card and it would of had the model written on it.

Yeah meant XT - was too late unfortunately, guy had confirmed in store and I had little time, wasn’t till I got home and was going to test. Stuck with the RX5700 in the end, got the refund of the difference from CeX and still a noticeable improvement in performance so all is well for another while at least 😀
