Handy man

So both shower doors have come off their tracks and I'm looking for a handy man to pop them back in. It's proving to be a hard task. Dosen't seem to be many handy men out there. Anyone available next week?

I tried to do it myself but was unsuccessful.

This is the DIY group. Come on venture outside your comfort zone and realise things are easier when done yourself. No need to go looking for someone, hanging around while they don’t turn up, then waiting another day and paying them for a few minutes work

In what way have they come off their tracks? completely off? They can be heavy and therefor awkward to get back on.

Usually there are hooks near the bottom on the door. These need to be located in the bottom rail first, Then wheels at the top of the door are spring loaded, with a small pin or lever that you need to press to release the tension and allow you to get the wheels into the top track.

If you post some pictures it might be easier to give you some tips.

I'm also female and in my late 70s. I recently put a shower door back on its track. I'm no expert but generally its a matter of lifting the entire door straight up and dropping it back in line. You don't really need a professional, just someone with a bit of welly.

There are people who will repair shower and patio doors, look up that reference locally to you.

Here's one that says 'if you have a broken shower door' - https://modernbathrooms.ie/bathroom-renovation-experts-in-dublin-11-d11/ They may charge you an arm and a leg, or they may just regard it as good karma/advertising and do it for the call out fee. Alternatively try a plumber, they will certainly charge you any number they can think of.

Handy-men are hard to find and to get one to just to fix a shower door could be difficult.
