Who is in the wrong?

As shown in the Google maps screenshot above, I was travelling from Carrickmines retail park to Cornelscourt this morning.

On the roundabout marked in red I approached in the right hand side lane (roundabout was clear) and proceeded to exit to the right as indicated on Google maps.

An audi who had joined the roundabout at high speed, from the left lane (coming from Westwood gym) nearly goes into the back of me and starts beeping and flashing his lights.

He proceeds to follow me and gets out of the car to bang on my window near Foxrock village.

This lad starts swearing and screaming, and tells me I need to learn my lanes. However if I was in the left hand lane here he would have 100% ran into the back of me.

Initially I thought I must of been in the wrong for him to react in this manner, but now I'm 99% sure I was not at fault.

Asked a couple of friends who live in the area and they say that this roundabout causes issues like this all the time.

Do I need to learn my lanes or was I just unlucky to come across a headbanger?

    ' An audi '

Enough said. I'll throw in an apology if it will help.

Seriously; thats the worst roundabout in the country for this. Even the next one, at the Luas CarPark, everybody goes around it in the left lane regardless of where they are going.

You were driving correctly. Sorry you had to experience road rage twice in such a short period. That must have been very unpleasant.

Even if you had done something wrong (you didn’t) it is not that person’s business or right to chastise you for it.

Take it easy the next couple of days and be kind to yourself.

There are a lot or impatient drivers at the best of time. Stress-mas with shopping and schools finishing today add even more.

When did you move into the left lane or did you cross immediately before the exit? and what indicators did you use/were using?

IMO I would have indicated right to join the RaB and at the first EXIT began indicating left and moved to the left lane.

Maybe you did all this and came across an Audi Headbanger in which case there is little you can do.
