If changing from a comprehensive to basic third party or third party fire and theft cover will your full no claims bonus remain unaffected (over ten years NCB with no claims in that period) ?

Would the same apply if off the road and not driving for twelve months or more and, at the end of that period, taking out a new policy with the same insurer you had or another one?

    1. Your no-claims bonus won't be affected if downgrading from fully comp to third party. The same might not apply in reverse.
    2. Your no-claims bonus can survive two years with no policy. You don't have to resume with the same company, just keep the last no-claims cert they sent you, usually with the last renewal notice.
