A Yellow Wagtail

    I seen a yella wagtail by my backdoor

    Neva bin this close befoor.


    Is this uncommon?(I understand they do not breed in Ireland and I guess my visitor-who seems to have taken up residence- has come from colder climes?)


    This chap seems to be on his own.I did see a flock of small yellow breasted small birds in the wood but I don't think they were yellow wagtails.(the wagtails have a very particular flying manner, don't they)


    We do have a lot of grey wagtails in the normal run of things(West Galway) but I never saw a yellow one before.
