    Hi,

I have a horstmann channel plus h37xl heating controller and water heater. It's in the house since around 2007. There are three zones, downstairs under floor, upstairs radiators and then just the water heating. What newer controller could I replace it with? One with a better timer or more functionality I guess? The current one is a bit of a dinosaur but works I just want to be able to set it and forget about it but not cost a fortune in heating bills if at all possible.

Thanks for the help and any recommendations

Hi studdlymurphy , I'm in a similar situation now, what did you decided on in the end? Tempted to go with the same again. It's certainly not the most user friendly!

Anyone else in a similar predicament? Appreciate any advice please ?

I have one of these and if you have 3 zones with a stat in each zone it's perfect for installing a tado smart stat in each zone. Direct replacement for the current wired stats. You don't need to remove the horseman, leave each zone as always on and then let the zone stats control the firing of the boiler.

Chuck, would you mind spelling out what you did here again? Only I looked at Tado myself and obviously got things wrong. Had you bought their wired thermostat with internet bridge only? You leave the relevant zone ON, and you can control via their app and touch via the stat - is that right? Is it possible to control out of the house? Is this the one you got per thermostat: Save Heating Energy With Wired Smart Thermostat | tado˚
