Does anyone know if a heated wing mirror can be super glued back on.

It seems the original glue has stopped working in holding the mirror on

id imagine the heat would interfere with the properties of the glue, potentially making it unsticky, but i could be wrong, surely theres a specialized glue out there just for such situations, the last thing you want is your mirror hitting the deck....

Happened me before, brought it to my mechanic because I assumed he'd use some sort of specialised glue that conducted the heat. Unfortunately he didn't. It worked fine, the mirror stayed put, but it never heated again.

What car is it? The glass and heater shouldn't be too expensive, but an exterior dimming mirror might jack up the price a bt.

I managed to break the heated mirror glass before trying to refit it, but often cheap heated mirror glass can be purchased online. Just beware of breaking the mirror surround, often which is special body coloured paint and crazy expensive to replace. Many mirrors now have glass adjusting motors, folding in when parked motors, turn indicators, puddle down lights etc, so tread carefully. Aftermarket mirrors may be slightly wrong shape too so more likely to get stuck or collude with housing.

I used double sided tape on a Golf a few years ago. It seems to hold fine.

There will be wire connections that need to be connected at the rear of replacement glass for heated mirrors. The clips that hold the replacement glass in place often get damaged when the glass itself does but any decent glue will hold the replacement glass in place and still allow for the mirrors to be folded in and out no bother. I was quoted slightly under a grand for a replacement heated wing mirror and that was supply only and didn't include fitting. I bought replacement glass only for something like £20 on ebay and fitted it myself in about 10 minutes, it didn't have the [ports to connect the wires to heat it but I didn't think that particular feature was worth a grand from my budget.
