Hi!

My cousin has a large 5 bedroomed house in Galway CIty. She rents out 2 rooms bringing in a total if 13k per year - she is a widow and on a Widow's Pension and uses the money to keep the house maintained and repaired - new heating system need in New Year. She put her name down to take a Ukranian refugee, but is concerned that this will bring her over rent a room relief, but I was under the impression that the accommodation recognition payment for refugees is a Social Welfare payment and not taxable and is separate to anything under rent a room relief as it's not renting. Can she accept this payment?.
