VW or Audi garage that will flash ECU for towbar use (early Audi A4 B8 Avant - 2008)

    Hi all,

So I had a mechanic friend fit a towbar wiring kit for a new towbar on an Audi A4 I own.

Since having it fitted the traction control light is on all the time (i.e. it's disabled) which isn't a problem for me, but may be for the NCT.

Apparently Audi A4 B8's need to have the ECU flashed with a firmware type update that tells the car it's running a towbar with electrics and it will solve the problem (clearing the code with a code reader only works temporarily until the car checks all the systems).

I tried a local Audi dealership in Athlone and a local Audi specialist but neither of them seem interested.

Does anyone else have any experience of getting this kind of work done on their VAG car?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Is it a genuine kit of an aftermarket kit? many modules such as central electrics, engine ecu, abs etc need coding with the genuine kit. What faults are you getting?
