Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I used to get my car serviced in FM Autos, but they are now closed.

Any recommendations? Or would I be as well going up the country?

    It is a 2010 diesel.

Is fm autos closed for good? That was there a v long time. Probably the last Saab specialist in Cork that I am aware of.

Henderson's down on the Marina, down by Dineen's Crash Repairs, are decent to deal with and like to work on cars that other places might consider a bit obscure. They don't mind you bringing your own service items either (say if you had a preference for a certain brand of air filter or something or a certain oil you'd like them to use).

Lewis Mellis in Fermoy is good as well. Not a SAAB specialist but he has a real interest in anything that's a bit different.

Is that place on the right going into five mile fm or someone else.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Regarding "any mechanic can look after it": one place (not mentioned here) said they will be able to service it no bother but they have found them a little difficult in the past, and if issues arise they cannot guarantee that they will be the best option for me.

I wouldn't bother with that place in the future then - the 9-3 was a lovely car but shared a lot of underpinnings with the Insignia, it's not like you're bringing them in an old 900-series and asking them to rebuild it!

In these cases, and you obviously want what's best for the car and have an interest in it, get to know a decent mechanic so you know what's going on and they'll go the extra mile for you.
