Planning on doing this in April, will be heading down from Dublin, plan was to jump on the train… anyone any recommendations for accommodation etc?

think the train only goes as far as Tralee so need to work out getting to Dingle from there, prob just cable…

Handy enough cycle from Tralee to Dingle over the Conor Pass. Be grand.

There’s a bus as well that will take one or two bikes. It might be dodgy if others have same idea.

I'd rather cycle down the M50 than do that stretch from Blennerville to Camp!

I was semi joking there, it's a tough enough route, particularly if you are carrying gear with you. Probably 2.5 hours no matter which route you choose.

Ha ha I gathered that, it’s about a 50km cycle would be fine on the Friday. It’s the Sunday going back is the issue!!

    May see about a bus

I cycled this route before and heading to Dingle was grand that main road to camp is a bit meh cars are generally flying along it. It's not a bad 45km down to dingle, the route I took back was intentional to stop off for the below in the south pole inn the food is class also. It felt a lot tougher coming back the way, I did have a head wind though. A lovely part of the world to cycle in but Conor pass could be a bit shite with cars on a summer weekend. The down hill into Dingle is epic if you like a bit of speed. ;)

Any recommendations on where to stay in Dingle? Airbnb probably the best?!

book sooner rather than later is my advice, try the tourist office if no luck with airbnb.

Good advent, did it this year, and have signed up for 2023.

Ah you should be able to get an airbnb in Dingle for a few nights for between 3 and 5 grand handy enough.

I was just about to say watch those air bnb down there. I had one booked for a triathlon weekend and when I called a few weeks before hand I got the auld sob story about how the prices hadn't updated when I booked and now it was nearly three times the price but she'd do it for not far off double. 🥴🙈

I've stayed in a private room in the grapevine hostel before and found it fine. I've also stayed in Trident Holiday homes which was ok, but you'd need a group of 5 or 6 if doing that.

That is definitely one shite stretch of road alright. Terrible surface, cars zipping along. Not enjoyable at all. Better off going Tralee -> Castlemaine -> Inch->Dingle of you did want to cycle.
