    Hi,

I am posting this to see if anybody has been successful in negotiating price of used cars(less than 2-3 year old car) when buying it from dealers.

Currently dealing with Annesley Williams at the moment for a 2020 sedan specs are good but the price is way too much. The Dealer is not ready to give any discounts.

Has anybody been in similar situation?

They are a main dealer and any car they sell will have had a full service and will come with a warranty which they have to buy from a third party so any problems will get sorted, even if they go bust. That is probably why the price is more than what you were expecting to pay.

It's not a matter of how to negotiate, the sales guy has a floor price which is set by the bean counters and he can't go any lower. Maybe he hasn't reach that level but he knows you want the car and he's holding out because he figures he will get the asking price from you or someone else. You have to decide: either up your offer, wait for him to cave or go elsewhere.

A sedan is called a saloon on this side of the Atlantic.

if you can get the same thing elsewhere within budget then buy it somewhere else, if this one is somehow better then you might have to suck it up.

Used cars are bought in, so if they bought it in too high, they may have to hold out for the buyer who will pay their price. Doesn’t have to be you.
