My new NCT cert already out of date

I had a test last Wednesday and the car passed.

They gave me a certificate which is already 3 months out of date.

Clearly I was very late in putting it through

What do I do now ?Book another test immediately?

They said nothing to me at the centre and I just assumed the car was in order as it had just passed.

Start with a phone call to the nct centre.

Get back down to the centre and get them to give you the correct cert. What does the website say your expiry date is now?

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

An error has occurred here, to back to the centre. You are not required to do two tests if you miss a full testing cycle.

What’s the expiry date when you put your reg in to this page?

Thanks for that (I did have it mind to attempt to apply online for a new test to see what the site would say)

Anyway, that url does say that the NCT is valid and it does also give an expiry date - as 23rd August 2023.

When I read the disk that I put on the windscreen it read 23-08-22(with the first two numbers written a bit smaller than the last 4)

So I misunderstood that to mean the 23rd of August 2022.

I also double checked on the actual certificate and ,although it did read there 23-08-2023 I simply misread it as 23-08 2022.

What must have confused me (or added to my confusion)was obviously the coincidence that the date of the month was 23 and the year was also 2023.

Anyway I have got another 9 months before I need to get the car tested again.

Thanks for everyone's attention and help.

I will be heading down to the neurosurgeon's pronto ;-)

It’s easily done 😀 we see so many different date formats everyday across apps and websites I find myself double checking them regularly

This is exactly why in our documentation (medtech) we have a rule of 2-3-4 regarding dates: 01-SEP-2022
