Second recall for EGR - BMW 5 series

    I was looking to book my car in for a service and thought I'd check for any recalls, it showed up as outstanding recall so I phone BMW and they tell me they are now change EGR (and probably have been for sometime) due to there still be problems with the EGR that it was replaced with...

    I didn't receive any notification there was a new recall, is there no some onus on manufacturers to contact owners of cars to inform? I only accidently came across this, there are probably many others driving around with cars with safety problems.

    Also they could only fit me in in February to fit the replacement! For a safety recall...

    Yes there is a new designed part from a different manufacturer to replace the already redesigned part that was already replaced 😬
