Citreon C4 - Adblue nightmare

Adblue tank has gone kaput for second time in two years in Citreon C4 - 1500 euro to replace and a month to wait for it.
Citreon dealer suggesting mapping the adblue, effectively disabling it. Any thoughts on this?
