Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the resale value going forward of these Japanese imports? I'm driving a mk4.5 Mondeo diesel which I love but I'm just not doing the mileage anymore. I'd like a similar size car but in petrol. I've zero interest in getting into debt to buy an ev or a hybrid. There are quiet a few tourans 1.4tsi autos for sale down my way hence the query. They are quiet expensive for what they are and I'm hesitant in case their market value takes a dive. What do people think?

Theres no reason for the market value of these cars to decrease any faster than any other car. Cars are only getting more expensive in Japan, freight costs increasing, VRT increasing, so theres no reason for these cars to decrease in value any quicker than other cars. If anything the opposite can be said.

What I will say is that dealers are selling them quite expensive and there aren’t many private sale options, so you will always take a hit when buying from a dealer. But they are petrol, automatic, and low mileage, hence why they are expensive.
