Riedel quality

So I got a gift of 2 Riedel wine glasses. Both are broken already, within a week of use. They weren't dropped. It wasn't the stem that broke but the part that holds the wine. I know they are fragile but this really was ridiculous.

Not used these ever but as a rule I always figure Dunnes or suchlike is as good as any for glasses as they don’t cost a bunch and they shears break at sooner or later.

I’d probably just used the really good ones on a very special occasion and avoid the dishwasher and be careful with hand washing.

Generally, the more expensive the wine glass, the more fragile.
