using 1 leap card for 2 person for irish rail?

so i have a unpersonalized leap card that i use occasionally to commute to work.

now next week both my wife and i would like to take the train. does this work for 2 people? as in, can i swipe twice on the thing before entering the train? and swipe twice when get out at kent station in cork city? like, i swipe and get out, and then give the card to my wife so she can swipe out again? how does it work? or should i just buy a separate ticket on the ticket machine?

I don't think you can. The barriers won't accept the same Leap card twice within a certain time period.

No, because if you try to swipe again, it'll say already validated.

You'll have to buy a ticket and in the meantime order a leap card for your wife.

They are dead handy now that they can be used across rail, bus, luas in Dublin at least. Also public transport very cheap at the moment..hopefully they keep it that way.

I take it that it's the cork commuter that you are thinking of getting is it .? Not from Dublin to Cork?. You can buy a leap card from the ticket machine at the station.

i already have a leap card, but this time both my wife and i wanted to take the train, and i was wondering if i can use that one card i have for both of us. but that doesn't work for the train, only on busses

ended up buying a separate ticket for her on the machine at the train stop
