AIB Credit card Cashback query

I am using AIB Platinum credit card and there is 0.5% cashback when you spend over €5,000 (and up to €50,000) in any 12 month period.

My question is, am I still eligible for the cashback if I pay the credit card bill via current account before its due date?

Yes. It does not rely on you paying interest

It would be an awful offer if it did!

God be with the days of the 1% cashback cards like Amex Blue (offered begrudgingly for a few years by BoI).

Am I right in saying that this is now the only cashback card available in Ireland? As opposed to 'rewards' in Tesco vouchers or donations to your Alma Mater, etc.
