Octavia Misfire Diagnosis

    Hi all,

Driving a 2017 Octavia 1.6 TDI and when accelerating from a cold start(worse when going uphill), i am getting a hesitation / stutter causing the car to be very jerky and struggling to get power to the wheels. Once I pass around 1500rpm, i will get a surge of power, until i go up a gear and it will happen again(When the revs drop). This cycle continues for the first few mins of driving, once the engine starts to heat up the symptoms start to go away, then when fully up to temp car is driving completely normal.

Recently serviced including fuel filter, ran a bottle of Wynns injector cleaner through it recently too with no difference, issue has gotten worse in the last few days with the drop in temperature in the mornings. No issues in starting the car, and no faults on dash.

Would any have experience of similar issues and be able to recommend a mechanic in the Limerick / Clare region that would be good to diagnose this?

    Thanks a mil

Try using VW's diesel injector cleaner and see does it improve, missing like that is usually a sign of impending injector failure, common enough in that engine.
