    Has anyone any idea what is happening with the Eir broadband in Sligo since yesterday? Contacting Eir was useless and their twitter and facebook pages had no information about it!

    No idea about Eir but Vodafone also went down about the same time (1pm) here yesterday and didn't come back properly until after 1am. When they both were down at the same time I kind of assumed it was a common problem - I know nothing about the technicalities of how it works and if they share lines/connections at any point

    If the Eir lines go down then others like Vodafone. Sky, Pure Telecom etc will be affected also as they all use Eir's infrastructure.

    Thanks Hawkwing! You supplied more info there than Eir ever would to their customers but what can you expect from their atrocious customer service!
