Hi all, talk about a pain. Trued booking flights for family holiday next year. Git all the way to payment but when I approve in the BOI app and go back to aer lingus app I get an error. Trued several times and eventually app said I took too long to pay. Anyone else got this problem

The app is awful. Use the actual website.

with aer lingus i had an issue with card payment that its insanely fussy on the address, and I needed to put my house number in the address2 field and not along with the street.

It took me an age to figure this out, and even had rang the bank to ask if my card was blocked. They only said that the vendor didnt accept the card, transaction aborted or something like that

Its pure stupidity to be so fussy on the payment security especially when paying for a service far in advance. Its not like youre buying gold bars that are going to be delivered tomorrow and they REALLY really need to ensure the payment is kosher as they are shipping you stuff of material value.

Also, if the pr1cks would only allow apple pay, it'd be a double click on the app and done in seconds, rather than spending an hour to NOT book a flight.

Had a similar problem with paying the balance on flights to US.

Initially paid the flight deposit without issue, so at least the flight price was locked in.

When I tried to pay the balance neither the app nor website would process the payment.

Eventually had to call them and pay over the phone. Absolute sh1tshow and seems to have been ongoing for months.

This has been going on for years. Apparently they are not set up for 2 step verification for cc's - ridiculous in this day and age.

I'm sure I've booked online with a credit card before?

But between that (if it's a thing), and not being able to check in with the passport card online - they'd really need to get their act together!

Eventually got sorted by using the Web rather than the app. Paid 80 euro mire for the flights as they had gone up since I first tried using the app.

It really is appalling that in this day and age Aer Lingus can't or won't fix the App.
