I'm just starting a CO job next week, but ironically FCC wants to interview me for an ASO role soon.

I've spent the last week doing extensive research on FCC... reports, the councillors, meeting minutes, future development, major achievements, plans, budgets, etc.

I've also worked on the various general competency questions etc.

I am absolutely obsessed with getting the ASO position.

Does anyone have any particular pointers or other info I could use?

I'm very well rehearsed on interviews... I love doing them. But this one I want to really nail.

I work in local govt, I'd advise you to seek out a grade 6/7 who might have interview board experience, and find out what they would look for in a successful candidate

The particulars of the job application would outline the areas to be covered and consequently marked upon

Local government knowledge and what the big ticket items in FCC are, budgeting, sources of income, role of elected rep

ASO is a supervisory role so how to manage, motivate, handle staff issues, pmds process as a staff management and support tool

I'd be expecting some problem solving situations, theoretical and from your past experience and what you'd do, use STAR technique

Always have a closing statement too👍
