Adding additional battery to PV system - REC required?

    Hi folks,

I have a PV setup with 5KW inverter and a single 3.6kwhr pylontech.

    I want to either:

    1. Add an additional compatable pylontech
    2. Go down the DIY battery route replacing existing pylontech.

In either scenario: Does this fall under "minor electrical work" by electricity regulations (i.e. allowable to DIY)? Or does it require a REC (Registered electrical contractor) to perform the work?

I find it hard to find a clear definition in the safeelectric guidelines - can anyone point me to any supporting documents for guidance so i can validate my own assumptions?

If i am trying to get a REC to do the work - is there specific certifications they need/require to work on battery/solar systems?

    Thanks
