Fused switched disconnects for batteries

Looking for some fused switched disconnects that can handle 200A

Anyone here use them and which type?

Seems like a lot of installers are using this Eaton Bussmann EBH000O3TM8 and it's only rated for 160A

Also it should NOT be used for anything DC as per Eaton instructions.

This is what they said when I asked them if they do a 200A one and explained it's for batteries:

Then they said this:

No these products are not DC rated and shouldn’t be used under DC conditions. The fuses however are allowed to be used up to 250VDc providing they are not used as switch contacts. The arc chambers and creepage/clearance distances within the EBH range are not sufficient to withstand the switching of DC circuits and may risk arc flash over or contact damage during the switching process. The below switches are DC rated and are the safest option

Found that one too, I think they do a 3 pole one which can be used with both + and - so that should do the job.

And unlike the cheapo one all the installers love to use incorrectly (above), seems to be exactly for batteries.

Do you need to fuse both positive and negative? Or are you using the fuse to double as an isolation switch?

Yes exactly. Normally you only need to fuse the positive but handy to do both for that purpose.

Shame projoy don't seem to do a 200a DC breaker like their 125a that I have currently.

And the high Amp DC breakers silly cost money.

Yeah I was thinking an MCCB would be a good idea then I looked at the price of a 200A one 😱

Personally I think a fuse holder on the positive and an isolator switch is probably easiest, keeps 2 different functions separated
