vodafone gigabit - aftermarket router suggestion?

Hi, just got NBI 500mbps through vodafone. ethernet directly to my work computer is perfect, but wifi is unusable. drops the connection every minute or so. I'm assuming it's the SHG3000 router so instead of spending days on hold, would anyone be able to suggest an alternative router? thanks
