Help with Bord Gais

Any help with this will be appreciated.

We have an account with Board Gais, that now includes our ESB bills. They send me emails to say my bill is ready, but don't say how much it is for. If I want more details, I have to log in, but for that I need my account number, which I don't have as I haven't had a paper bill from them for years. When I call to talk to someone about it, I am asked for my account number and can't proceed without it. I am also invited to download the Bord Gais app but when I try to do that, it again asks for my account number.

Does anyone know how to find their Bord Gais account number, or how to talk to a human about getting it?

Change provider. You will get a new account number from your new provider

If you don't change provider every 12 months then you can pay over 10% extra. You can officially leave & return to your current provider in the same day to get the "new customer" discounts.

You get to talk to a human with most companies if you choose "close account". They also usually have an option for live chat or contact via email. All you need is name and address and maybe your MPRN. They can give you your account number from this information.

I can't stress this enough. Everyone should be getting a new contract every 12 months and all of the discounts that come with it.

Would ESB networks be able to get your account details for you?

You say that they now supply your electricity as well as gas, did you change recently? If so you may have a contract in your emails?

Surely the mails contain some sort of information about you, otherwise how would you know it's not just a random scam?

My messages from them always have my gprn no., Which should be enough to find out your account
