Electric Roller Shutter door problems

I have an electric roller shutter door about 12 ft w x 10ft tall. Haven't opened it for about 10 years but recently had to go into the shed and initially the door opened a few feet and started to slow (operated off a generator) . After this initial opening and close, it now will only go down slowly and loads the generator, even if I press the up button, it still wil only go down. Any ideas ehat might be happening?
