Friday night dinner for two - Elbow Lane or Goldie?

Only in town for one night (home from the UK) and a bit torn between the two venues for a Friday night in early December.

    Some relevant info:

    1. We've never been to either place and I can currently get a table at either venue
    2. Both like meat/fish, but he's leaning towards the Elbow Lane meats and I'm keen on the fresh take on fish in Goldie
    3. Not a special occasion, just looking for somewhere that showcases the Cork produce the best

Thoughts from anyone who's tried both would be great, or indeed if there are any other restaurants to throw into the running, equally welcome 😊

P.S. any suggestions for a pub for after dinner drinks that has a bit of trad on a Friday night?

Both are excellent but it’s Elbow Lane for me.

The food in Goldie is super but I just find the servings a bit small.

Goldie for me ! Another option be Glass Curtain on McCurtain st.

I think Sin E on Coburg st may have some trad sessions

Chalk and cheese really, Goldie is fine fish dining, fresh menu every day and I adore it, but if you want really good steak and chips, duck, fish and chips etc then Elbow Lane.

Both brilliant in a different way
