    Folks,

I came home to find a back window pane shattered, it’s triple glazed originally by Munster J and am wondering if I can buy a replacement unit or would the a glazer replace this? Had no joy with a local company despite a call and email. Thanks, Bren.

Try Martin Glass in Waterford - https://www.martinglass.ie/ . Might be wrong but I seem to remember their stickers on the glass in some Munster frames a while back. Always found them a good company to deal with.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Sorry I don't know anyone up there. Give Martin Glass a call anyway and see it they have deliveries up your way or if they can recommend anyone nearer.

Might be under warranty if window less than 10 years. If its the inside pane. Had similar issue and was replaced.

MJ don't usually replace glass ], Neighbour had triple glazing installed by them and inner panel shattered after 3 weeks, MJ would not replace it FOC.

Im sure i saw threads on here with similar experience.

Warranty tends to be dependant on how hard they are pushed.

Which pane is shattered, internal, middle or external, OP?

Sometimes if they shatter like this it can be caused by an "inclusion". That's a tiny piece of sulphide or 'dirt' in the actual glass itself and these are often easier to obtain warranty replacements under, rather than having to prove that it wasn't due to an accident.

You can often look at the spider-web of broken glass and trace the breakage back to a "butterfly" at the center of the spider-web. Sometimes you'll find a little spec of black sand in the very center - if you do - photograph it and use it as part of your warranty claim if the unit is under the manufacturer's warranty period.

    Example here:
