Got a gift of a home projector but it came with a US power supply. It came with an adapter but its terrible and keeps falling out.

I have this other adapter with an Irish plug and it seems to fit the projector. I am afraid to power it on with the Irish one in case it damages it. Can anyone tell me if it will work?

I have rotated the 2nd image but for some reason it keeps getting put in upside down

It won't work. The US PSU has an output of 22 volts and a maximum current rating of 2.2 amps. The second one is only 5 volts and 2 amps. The voltage has to match exactly, while the current can be the same or higher (the device only draws what it needs).

It won't work, the one it came with is 22V DC output and the one you're proposing to use is 5V, so although it won't work it wouldn't have blown up the projector either :)

You'll have to search for an adapter that supplies 22V at 2.2A (or greater) and has the same diameter DC plug on it. There's loads of different sizes of plug so be careful, also check the polarity is the same, i.e. +ve is on the central pin, -ve on the outside.

output for Power supply in pic 1 is 22Volts DC, and 5 volts DC in pic 2.

Doubt it will be strong enough for projector

You can get universal extension leads that take plugs from every country or buy a USA extension lead and swap the plug. Just an example below from Amazon
