Phone wifi not working

I got a new phone nokia 12. It works fine. On 4g internet. On my wifi network I put in password. Wifi icon lights up white. But I go on youtube or any website it says cannot load website blank page

I tried my old sony experia phone. It works fine on every website.and youtube. Using chrome browser

Sony phone 4 years old.

Its probably security options in browser

I cant pick up 4g internet at home. Unless I go outside in.garden. Maybe blocked by 5 storey buildings around me

Im.in hotel for next 2 weeks

I have. nt tried using nokia phone on wifi in cafe.or library Nokia phone 2 weeks old bought in eircom shop uses eir sim card

Do other applications like Google Play work?

i used it today on free wifi network temple bar it works fine, i downloaded 2 podcasts from playerfm.com ,i did,nt try the play store ,i only use the chrome browser ,it works fine on 4g network outside, stephens green, dame st , o.,connell street.

So WiFi works if I click on WiFi icon Click connect it says optltaining IP address ,connected after 2 seconds but after 3 minutes it stops working

And I have to click icon connect again to use the web

My old Sony phone works fine on the network no disconnections

But it,d be nice to use my new phone too I bought phone 2 weeks ago

I would try two things:

1 - Disable IPv6 on your home router if present - forget network, then test

or

2 - set static IP on the phone:

from WiFi setting menu select your network>more(or advanced, or cogwheel)>view more>IP Settings>Static

here you will need to enter IP , Gateway, Subnetmask(or could be called prefix) and DNS that is in the range of your home network.

If your router IP is 192.168.1.1(check actual) set your phone to 192.168.1.101(unless this IP is already assigned)

Gateway is your router IP - 192.168.1.1 (check actual )

Subnetmask(or could be called prefix) - 255.255.255.0 (or 24 for prefix)

DNS1 - router IP

DNS2 - 8.8.8.8 (or 8.8.4.4 or 1.1.1.1)

My phone was 2 minutes behind ,time was set wrong ,put time forward 2 minutes and now WiFi works perfectly .I just noticed time on my pc was 2 minutes ahead of my phone

it loses connection after 4 minutes , i have to click, wifi, network ..name , connect , to use the web ,i can download podcasts anyway.so wifi does not work perfectly
