All inclusive family holiday canaries, currently 5 pax, due to be 6 booking 1 room istead of 2

    Looking to book a holiday for next year and the agent has said i need to book two rooms as they only allow a max of 5 pax in one room.

    Currently we are 2 adults and 3 children. There is 1 infant due in march.


    I went to book the above yesterday but was unable to as i obviously didn't have the baby's details as there are none yet. Rang Ryanair for them to advise on what details to input. Their advice was to book for 5 and call them to add the new born (on lap) at a later date.

    Has aanyone ever done this before with accom? Book as if it was just us and the 3 kids in 1 room and rock up with an infant. Who will be sleeping in the room with us anyway.

    accom only, I went to book the package with the 6 of us but obviously didn't have details for the infant. I rang Ryanair to see how to input and they told me to wait until the birth, ring them and add the infant on (lap passenger).


    Went to make the adjustment on the travel site and realised I have 1 adult and 3 kids in one room and just 1 adult in the second.

    We've always had issues in previous years even with 2+3 as most rooms, even family rooms, have maximum occupancy.

    We would always have been looking at two rooms so generally went to mobile home sites instead.

    We stayed All Inclusive in the Sol Lanzarote in July. Did a quick search there for next summer and you'd be looking at €5K+ for 2+3 in a Sol Suite.

    You could drop them an email asking about the infant as they should be free in any case.

    If accommodation, I wouldn't be rocking up anywhere with an extra person (albeit an infant) that's not on the official booking. Have you considered the possibility, the unnamed accommodation may not not allow unaccompanied children - that at least 1 adult must accompany them?

    I wouldn't risk it for the accommodation to be honest.

    Why cant you book the two rooms and then add the baby later like you are doing with Ryanair?

    I have emailed the hotel we are looking at already to see if they can accommodate us in the 1 room, was just curious if any had previous experience with the same.


    This will obviously be the most likely outcome, just seems to me like it would make more sense to allow us have the 1 apartment and they could then let the second out for more money to another family/group with more than 1 person in it.
