As per the title, anybody found any particular brands good but affordable?

I see some of the "ElectriQ" ones have low power consumption, can be set to certain humidity levels and controlled through an app over wifi, has anybody heard anything about these?

If the air temperature is in any way low, you need a desiccant based dehumidifier - condenser ones, which are the norm, do not work to any acceptable efficiency in colder rooms. electriQ do these - they're on their site as being for "unheated property"

Condenser ones work best at about 20c, which is quite a high heat for a garage.

Room needs to be totally air tight or you will simply draw damp in constantly. You can buy car inflatable seaied chambers. Cost to run dehumidier will be low if in a sealed small chamber with the dehumidifier turning off when humidity is low enough. Consider a fan to move air around the room to prevent mould.

It's far cheaper to seal and dehumidify than heat, particularly with energy costs doubling. Main issue with tents is getting car in and out and not being able to just hop in for a drive.

If storing car without driving for months consider other things like standing on axle stands to prevent flat spots on wheels, draining fuel, disconnecting battery etc. If storing long term ensure room is dark 24/7

Driving once in a while is good for cars, particularly the engine and moving parts.
