Any one able to calculate the below size highlighted in red for me (using some fancy software maybe, solidworks or something).

The overall parcel is 8ha in size is the only information i have.

Google maps has a measure function. It's very accurate. I checked it against my trundle wheel and it was out by a metre.

Right click on the map and the measure is in the little box

If you know any length this tool should work,

from area might be a little trickier.

I can do it by scanning into cad, resizing the overall plot until it measures 8 hectares then measuring the marked area.

I wouldn't be happy with accuracy in doing that though as you are possibly taking the 8 hectares from landdirect which is only to 2 decimal places on there so that's a major inaccuracy to start and then I would be working with screen capture of your plot which gives another inaccuracy.

I can improve accuracy by buying an osi map to get scale exactly right but then it's costing you money.

You could measure it yourself using old school triangles.

This was handy! Seems to be around 1.9Ha. Difficult to calculate due to tree overhand on google maps but close enough.

Trying to assess a potential Riparian grassland.

    Thanks all,

There's an app I use that measures field size etc, loads of them in the app stores, very simple just drop pins around the edges of where you want to measure.
