Ireland should fund a new city in/near the Ukraine?

Answers are thin on the ground as to how ireland should house and accommodate so many people fleeing Ukraine and the rest of the world.

Would it not make sense to buy land tracts off another country nearer to the Ukraine, or in Ukraine itself, send the builders, hospital staff, teachers and whoever else needed to construct and run a temporary town or city for a few years or more?

Until the occupants could get work themselves locally, the Irish government could pay them the social welfare and any other monetary supports from here.

It would be far cheaper than trying to do it here, that's easily the biggest advantage.

    Would you support this idea?

I'll also say that it could probably done far quicker than here. The likes of planning permissions and red tape are notorious in Ireland.

Even modular housing could be provided at fractions of what's paid here and quicker.

You have posted your "suggestion" in another thread

This does not warrant a thread of its own
