    This valve at the bottom of the press, can anyone tell me if this should be open or closed please.

    That's two valves, but please take a few more photos from further back to give us an idea what we're looking at ???

    Is that photo 'upside down' or is the cylinder 'upside down'?. Normally it's the top of the cylinder that is curved with an outlet on 'top dead center'. Bottom is normally flat.

    I'm confused !!!!!

    That lever valve is in the open position to heat hot water and radiators.

    the red wheel head valve-turn it one full turn anti-clockwise.This will open it more.


    the lever valve pull it upwards so it’s across the pipe.(this will close off the radiator circuits and only heat the water.


    Turn the boiler on and see does it heat the water in 30mins
